Monday Funday.

19 Dec

Phew. Ended up going over to Oxford Street, and it’s never the best of places to be, let alone close to Christmas! However, I managed to get quite a few stocking fillers, so I’m pretty pleased. Happy days. We also spent about 2 or 3 hours in Starbucks, overlooking the street from high up, which was fun. On the way, we took the DLR, and it was raining, which meant I got some pretty cool photographs. Ah, I love my DSLR. It’s a little beauty, and the focusing does exactly what I want it to do…in focus, out of focus, it’s my best friend!

However, the Starbucks in now inside of New Look; this is not exactly a good thing. The boy was doing his revision. I was fiddling around with my phone, but I got a tad bored. What’s a girl to do? Yes, I went on a wander in New Look. I picked up 7 items of clothing, went into the changing rooms…and came away with 3 that I bought. Whoops-a-daisy. They’re pretty though.

And I also got a black t-shirt, with a picture of New York on it, which says “New York City, Where Dreams Are Made” I’m in love with it. Naughty Sarah. But, hey, at least I did get some Christmas shopping done! Plus, I got two stocking fillers from New Look too… Here are some snaps from today…

I hope you have all had a good Monday, how’s it been? Today was nice, we had breakfast at Wetherspoons (mine was a Veggie breakfast, yum), lunch at Mc Donald’s, coffee in Starbucks and yummy dinner from the boy’s Nan. All in all, the food was good today. Maybe a little indulgent, but who cares? You’re allowed naughty days sometimes…

Have yourself a Monday Funday!

5 Days ’til Christmas…

Love and Peace is the way.

6 Dec

Went out in London yesterday with the boy, and, as always, the camera was by my side. Here are a few pics to gorge your eyes on. (If you want to use them, you know the drill, please ask first!)

Love and peace to you all, here’s hoping you’ve had a good Tuesday.

New…

13 Apr

Well, I’m on my way to tackling my room, hopefully once and for all! The other day the boy came with me to IKEA, and I got a big rectangular “bookcase” – but it has 8 separate square areas, and you can get baskets to fit into the squares, creating storage – so I’ve got 4 squares with baskets, and 4 squares that I’m using to display my favourite photography, crafts and fashion-y books. Oh, and not forgetting my Lily-Flame candles!

I’ve made a deal with myself that I’m not going to buy anything for a while, as I don’t actually need anything, it’s mostly just wanting. So I’m just going to do the best with the things I’ve got. And to be honest, I have a lot of things/books/clothes etc, so I just need to realise what I have and make good use of them all! Last week I came across a few fashion blogs who take part in “30 for 30″ challenges, wherein you choose 30 items from your wardrobe and you mix and match those 30 items for 30 days. The point of it is that it helps you to make use of the clothes in your wardrobe, and it also helps you to be more creative with the clothes you have; one of the rules is that you’re not allowed to buy any clothes during those 30 days! I’ve found most of the information here >> http://kendieveryday.blogspot.com/p/30-for-30-remixes.html

I love Kendi’s outfits! It’s good to remix your wardrobe and work what you have…which leads me to another fashion/style blog that I really love at the moment! She has quite a rocky/grunge style, which I love >> http://workwithwhatyouvegot.blogspot.com/

I’m loving all these blogs at the moment, I just wander around in the blogosphere and stumble across all these lovely blogs. Ah, good times. Although it is one of the most addictive forms of procrastination…YIKES! EEK! Yeah, you guessed it, I have a lot of others things I ought to be getting on with, but I just thought I should do a little blog post – after all, my blog makes me happy (of course), so I need to keep up with it…oh dear, I’m probably going to read this all back and laugh!

Anyway, things that make me happy right now:

~ When someone unexpectedly brings me a tea/hot chocolate
~ Realising that I have people who will help me through things – the boy has committed himself to helping me crack my room!
~ Learning to trust myself
~ The blogosphere!
~ Cats that curl up and fall asleep on your bed
~ Being able to see my lovely books in my new bookcase/storage furniture – I have no idea what to call it…
~ Beginning to remix my wardrobe (basically combining different pieces from your wardrobe to create a range of new outfits!)
~ The fact that it’s Wednesday – half-way through the week, woop woop!

Hope you’re having yourself a very happy Wednesday.

Wowzers! I’ve come across a great blog – New Dress A Day – and I just had to send you her way!! I can’t do the blog justice, so just click on the link below if you love thrift-ing, craft-ing, dresses and alchemy! Go, go, you will not regret it! I think I’m going to get started with all of my own craft/DIY projects soon – I have a crafty drawer full to the brim with bits and bobs, patiently waiting for my love and attention…

My dream craft-cupboard…! The reality is a messy drawer… Yikes, this isn’t the end of this…there’s a high possibility of another craft/DIY post later… (Off to drink my tea, and ponder the exciting possibilities…!)

Move over LBD…

7 Mar

I’m not interested in a LBD (Little Black Dress)…what I really want is a Little RED Dress. Oh yes!

Hats and sunglasses

20 Nov

It’s cold enough to wear hats but the sun is out too, so pop those sunglasses on! I must have about 5 or 6 glasses in my collection now…and I LOVE the sunglasses in Liberty – so pretty. I really want a pair with floral prints all over them. I seem to have a little bit of an obsession with floral prints at the moment…I suppose, it’s not a bad thing…but it’s the winter now and some may say that florals are too summery and should stay in the summer – but I dare to disagree here. Some people also think that you should separate your clothes into “summer” and “winter”…but I disagree with this too. I like to mix and match, if there’s something thin that I want to wear now, I’ll just layer it up and pull on some thick tights. Sorted. There’s also a wonderful thing called a winter coat, that should do the trick too. And if it’s really cold – scarf, hat and gloves. There we go. Oh, and if the sun is out, SUNGLASSES.

I’ve just been up to visit Lizzie In Wonderland…had a lovely time, thank you! We mainly talked, ate and shopped…and I snapped away with the camera, of course. I wanted to make another visit up before Christmas but it doesn’t look like that will happen…so I guess we’ll have to wait another 3 weeks until she’s home for the holidays, yay. I’ve also been a very naughty vegetarian and have been eating SWEETS. Bad. But they’re so tasty. It’s still bad. And I’ve learnt that marshmallows aren’t vegetarian either, bad, bad, bad. Oh dear.

And now, I’ve got to fly off and see the boy… Have a good friday night, wherever you are.

September Wish-List

1 Sep

Alright then, I think it’s time for a wish-list!! These are things that I might not even get (at least not at the moment, the funds are running dangerously low) but I shall keep my eye on them for the autumn/winter (they may appear on a Christmas Wish-list). I have just been poking my nose into a few websites…and these beauties popped up:

(1) Blue polka dot dressBlue 1950′s Sweetheart Swing Dress

Isn’t this just gorgeous? I’ve always wanted a dress like this and I’ve yet to get one (although, I did have a pink dress in a similar style around 2003/2004 – the year that the big skirts were fashionable?) Unfortunately, this is WAY out of my price bracket at the moment, it totals as £69, which is just a nice way of saying it’s just under £70. No effing way I’m afraid…unless, as I said, it goes onto my Christmas Wish-list…in which case, money money money please…? *Sighs* and I’d also need the petticoat if I want this dress…I really do think it’s a bit on the pricey side…maybe I can find something similar elsewhere eh?!

(2) Blue WedgesBlue Bow Button Wedges

Another pair of wedges this summer…somehow I don’t think that’s going to happen!! I can barely walk in the first pair I’ve got – still getting used to them at the moment, I almost had a disastrous ankle-twisting accident with them; I was walking down the street, when I suddenly twisted not one, but both ankles…luckily I didn’t hurt myself but it gave me such a scare! Haven’t worn them since and I’m a little scared to – need some gentle guidance here, help!

(3) Alice in Wonderland Handbag

Alice bagWow, it’s not often that a bag can take my breath away! This is inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and it’s absolutely lovely. I’ve not seen anything quite like it before…and I want it… Look at those amazing little details on it…what’s not to like? Unfortunately, again, like the dress, the price tag is a little too much for me! This one totals £65…just a bit less than the dress – and for a little more, that’s what you could get, a DRESS! Hmmm, not sure what to make of it now. Should a bag be more expensive than a dress? Or should a dress be more expensive than a bag? I don’t know personally but both of them are too expensive for my liking…lower it down to the £20s and then we’ll talk some more!

New clothes…

24 Aug

Yes, the sales lured me in once again! And I warn you, hurry up before they’re over, there’s some bargains to be had!

the grass could be greenerA lovely t-shirt from Dorothy Perkins – can a t-shirt help to save the planet? I hope so. It has “The Grass Could Be Greener” printed across it and a fraction of the profits go towards the Woodland Trust. Would look good with jeans or tucked into a high waisted skirt – as I wore it the other night!

Blue cardi

A wonderfully knitted piece of clothing! It’ll contribute to my growing number of cardigans sitting in my wardrobe – at present, they’re my chosen over-wear pieces, I think they finish off an outfit very well. This obsession with cardigans has been intact since I was a baby I’ll have you know…

 Grey crossover

Another lovely find, this will look great over long sleeved tops…gearing up for the transition between summer and autumn already…well, as I always say, it’s never too early to start planning ahead!

necklace

Well now, I thought it was a bit contradicting if I’m making loads of jewellery and yet not wearing much myself…which is where this little find comes in! I love the colours of the beads, they work well together and will pretty much go with any outfit! After all, I do love rainbows, so a rainbow coloured necklace is quite fitting.

That’s the lot of my shopping spree…all the items are from Dorothy Perkins…and the images are taken from the website too. Happy shopping everyone! (By the way, also topped up my links on the right hand side of the page, so go on, have a gander at them too…if you’re anything like me, you won’t be disappointed!)
